I just want to start this review out stating that my family and I have been vacationing in Surfside Beach for 23 years, 2 times a year. We also used Surfside Realty for that time period too. Yesterday (9/17/19) I tried to book a vacation November 21st-30th. I dealt with an Agent named Kathy at Surfside Realty. Let me tell you that this woman was more than unpleasant! First of all she would not let me book the dates I wanted to pay for, she told us we could only make weekly reservations that had to get approved by her manager. She was extremely rude, and very difficult to work with. We always booked these dates and other agents would work with us. She was very discourteous, she stated that she leaves at 4 o’clock and was declining it since I didn’t provide a credit card number. I wanted to talk everything over with my husband before booking. Also during the 23 years other agents negotiated with the home owners to work on prices. Kathy would not! She quoted us a much higher price than advertised than online, she told us there’s no negotiating the price is the price. I’m not sure if there was a policy change but if there was she could’ve explained it professionally, plus I wasn’t looking for a free vacation I didn’t want to pay her overpriced quote. If I was the homeowner I’d rather have my house rented for the week than not have it rented at all for the week. The only plus with this experience is that I booked with a different realty company, we booked a newly remodeled home for half the price Kathy gave us plus we have a longer stay!! Kathy should not be working with the public she seems to be very toxic for Surfside Realty. I don’t think my family and I will be using this Realty company again. Mary and Frank Poplaski

Wake were called because of the storm to tell us that they would be closing the office because of mandatory evacuation and I thanked them and stayed at least I had the travel insurance and the lady I was speaking with said that we didn’t. That I had cancelled it back in November of 2018. That I know I did not. I cancelled the linen package but of course it was my word against theirs. Thank goodness it all worked out and we were able to to still come. I am not sure we will rent from them again even though we have for over 10 years.

Terrible experience they try to charge you for every little thing and try to do as little as possible the house looked terrible nothing like the pictures and the blinds kept falling off. Most of the bathroom floors had some duct tape on them so overall it was a terrible experience.

The people there have no customer service skills had a contract and PAID my deposit only for them to cancel my contact and was told my Travis that it's a one way contact not binding for them ..... They took the first house we had a paid deposit on.....they told us we could go somewhere else or take one if three choices they gave us but only one was close to what we had........I would never use this group our vacation was basically changed by them on there terms ..........bad business.....stay away

Our stay was amazing! The reason for the 4 stars is because of a few things. Before you read any further I want to let you know I would rent from them again. The people I met in the office the first day were great. Very friendly and nice all around. 1. We arrived on Saturday and when we got to our house we rented we were supposed to have 3 bags of linens and there were only 2. We had towels, wash cloths but no cheets for any beds. They did get them to us in a decent time frame so this was not a huge deal. However all of the bags should have been green bags and everything was to be returned in these bags or there was a charge. Well, they brought the linens in clear plastic bags. I called 3 or 4 times throughout the week to figure out what to do or if someone was bringing me another bag. It took the last call and the day before we left to get an answer. I was told to set them out in the clear bags. So I can only assume till that last person who actually called me back no one followed up on their request to make sure it was done. I didn't care to put anything in the clear bags but I asked every single time if that was ok because my only concern was getting charged. 2. Our 3rd floor a/c was out. It was 20 degrees or more on the third floor. Luckily we had a few cancellations and ended up no using this floor or it would have been a bigger issue than it was. It did not affect the temperature on the other floors considering they have separate units. There was an emergency number but I waited till Monday when they were open to call the office and someone was out the next day. 3. The microwave stopped working on I believe the 3rd day. It kept tripping the breaker and was out for rest of the week. They had to order something.4. The ice machine only put out crushed ice. Even though this was not a big deal I am more of a fan of cubed. When they came out to work on the microwave they fixed the ice maker. Something was frozen in the back keeping it from changing. 5. The smallest infraction all together. The toilet paper holder in the hall bathroom on the main floor was pulled out of the wall and sitting on the window sill. I understand some people have had bad experiences with renting from them. Although they are not perfect, find me someone who is. I believe they gave us the best service they were able to. There were a few downsides but everything was eventually addressed. We still had a pleasant stay and like I said in the beginning. I WOULD RENT FROM THEM AGAIN. Thank you surfside.

The WORST customer service EVER!!!!! This place has the rudest people I believe I have ever spoken to! Everyone take a look at all the other reviews! Several people tell how RUDE these people are!! It is just awful!!!

If I could give no star I would! Been using them a while but NO MORE! House was full of sand when we got there, they use a (professional) cleaning service 😆 “right “! This same (professional) cleaner also said there was dog hair in the house when we left? I don’t even own a pet, dog,cat, bird not even a fish! Was charged $1,000 on my credit card! Thank GOD we got that back!!!! Beware of this place, they got a good SCAM going on! Check the reviews, and you will see that we aren’t the only ones!!! We will be going back to Dune’s Reality for our house needs! I’ll never give Surfside Realty 1 cent more! We have been coming to Garden City for the past 15 years, used SeaSide before Surfside took over! Oh well, their loss! I be Dunes Reality will really enjoy having another $5,000 customer!!!! Again, BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE!!!!!!!

Regarding the Property Management side of this business I recommend that you not purchase or rent any property they manage. Incompetent would be a compliment for these people. Rude and condescending if you ever do reach someone by phone and the receptionist is even worse if possible. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!!!!
